Join our fight against Batten disease
When they were just four and two, happy, thriving siblings Ollie and Amelia were diagnosed with CNL2 Batten disease. Batten is a rare, incurable and fatal disease with a life expectancy of six to twelve years. As Ollie and Amelia’s parents, we’re dedicating our time to raising awareness of Batten disease and hoping to one day find a cure. Join our army.

It’s been a constant battle to get the best care for Amelia and Ollie. The disease is so rare, many health care professionals have never heard of it. Right now, Batten disease has no cure — it is always fatal. This is our fight to spread the word and ensure Ollie and Amelia’s voices are heard in a hope to save children’s lives in future.
What is Batten disease?
Batten disease is a cruel condition that robs seemingly healthy children of their ability to walk, talk, swallow and see, whilst causing uncontrollable seizures and movement disorders.
Children with Batten disease cannot make an enzyme responsible for eliminating waste that builds up in the brain. Eventually, children with Batten disease become blind, tube fed, completely dependent on others for all their needs, and unable to communicate.
